Why Vegan Baklava Is Perfect for a Halloween Party

The Baklava Box offers a vegan baklava selection that can make Halloween hosting easier when your guests follow different diets. Our vegan baklava selection is made without dairy or eggs, and it comes as a mixed box with different shapes and nut fillings. In this guide, we explain what is in the box, why it may suit a Halloween party, and how to plan your table, quantities and delivery so everything arrives in good time.

What Vegan Baklava Means

A vegan version keeps the familiar layers of thin pastry and nuts, finished with syrup, and adjusts the ingredients that come from animals. Traditional recipes usually use butter, so the main change in a vegan version is the fat. In our case, that is vegetable ghee.

Our vegan selection is certified vegan by The Vegan Society. For guests who like to check, that gives an independent certification to look for alongside the ingredient list.

What Is in Our Vegan Baklava Box

Our Vegan Baklava Box is a mixed selection made with vegetable ghee, and the pieces come in different shapes.

Cashew pieces

Four of the shapes are filled with cashew. These are the Bracelet and the Boukaj, along with the Colewschor and the Finger.

Pistachio and almond

The box also includes a pistachio piece and a square almond piece, so there is a little variety in flavour as well as in shape.

Baklava contains nuts and a wheat based pastry. Full ingredient and allergen details are listed on the product page, and we would suggest reading them before you order.

How We Make It

We are a family run bakery, and our baklava is baked in the UK. Our products are made fresh to order, each piece is individually wrapped and every order is packed by hand before it goes out. The individual wrapping is there to help protect the pieces on their way to you, and it also makes it easy to bring a few out at a time during the evening.

Why a Vegan Box Can Suit a Halloween Party

Buy Vegan Baklava

Halloween parties often bring together guests with different tastes and dietary choices, so a dessert that many of them can share is a useful thing to have on the table. Here is how a vegan box can help.

A shared dessert for mixed diets

A vegan box can mean fewer separate desserts to organise, since guests who follow a vegan diet can enjoy the same platter as everyone else.

Easy to eat by hand

The pieces can be picked up and eaten without a fork, which tends to work well at a standing party where guests move around with a drink.

Little to prepare beforehand

The box arrives ready to serve, so there is not much to do before the evening begins.

A good fit for a Halloween colour scheme

The golden pastry can look especially good against dark platters and orange touches.

Halloween Table Ideas

A simple setup tends to work best, and a few small details can give the dessert table a Halloween feel. Baklava is usually served at room temperature or slightly warm.

Black platters with orange napkins

A black platter can show off the colour of the pastry, and orange napkins add a seasonal touch without much effort.

A clearly labelled vegan serving area

Set aside one end of the table or a separate tray, with a small card marked vegan and its own serving utensils.

Small seasonal touches

A few mini pumpkins or flameless candles near the platters can finish the look without crowding the table.

A hot drink alongside

Coffee or tea can balance the sweetness, and it gives guests a reason to linger at the dessert table.

Pieces brought out a few at a time

Refilling the platter as guests arrive keeps the table looking tidy through the evening.

We shared more table ideas in our earlier guide to Halloween baklava boxes.

Setting Out Vegan and Standard Platters Together

If many of your guests eat dairy, you may like to add a standard box alongside the vegan one. Our standard baklava is made with butter ghee and contains milk, so it is not suitable for vegan guests.

Keeping the two on separate platters, each with its own serving utensils and a clear label, helps guests choose easily and avoids mix ups once the table gets busy. Separate utensils are a helpful habit, but they do not guarantee protection against allergen cross contact, so anyone with an allergy should check the ingredients and allergen information for themselves.

Vegan Choices and Allergies

Vegan is a dietary choice, and it is not the same as an allergy statement. Our vegan selection is made without dairy or eggs, but if you are buying for someone with a milk or egg allergy, or any other allergy, please read the full ingredients and allergen information on the product page before ordering.

Baklava is made with nuts and a wheat based pastry, so it will not suit every guest. If children are among your guests, it is worth checking for nut allergies before the platters go out.

Planning How Much to Order

A little planning helps, and it starts with your guest list and what else will be on the table.

  1. Count your guests, including anyone who will only eat the vegan pieces.
  2. Decide whether baklava will be the main dessert or one of several.
  3. Check the weight on the product page, as our gift boxes run from 250g up to 1kg.
  4. Order an extra box rather than stretching one.

Piece counts vary with size and shape, so the weight is the most reliable guide. An unopened box can be kept for later, so a spare box does not have to be finished on the night. For larger parties, our vegan bundles combine our vegan range with Turkish delight.

If you’re planning a larger corporate or event order, please contact us before ordering. We can discuss the quantities, products and options currently available and advise what we can accommodate.

Storing Baklava and Buying Ahead

Baklava can be bought ahead of your party when it is stored properly. According to our FAQ page, an unopened box stays fresh for up to three months in a cool, dry place. Once opened, it is best eaten within two to three weeks.

We suggest keeping it in an airtight container at room temperature rather than in the fridge, as chilling can affect the pastry.

Delivery and Timing for Halloween

Turkish Sweets UK

Halloween falls on Saturday 31 October 2026. We would suggest ordering early and aiming for your box to arrive before your party, with some time to spare. Our delivery page currently lists delivery Monday to Friday, and courier delivery times are estimates, so we are not able to promise a specific arrival date.

Delivery is free on standard online orders over £50 excluding VAT, and orders below that threshold have a £4.49 delivery charge including VAT. Larger corporate or bulk orders may need separate arrangements. Our delivery page has the latest information.

Taking a Box as a Host Gift

If you are bringing a box to someone else’s party, you can add a personal gift message at checkout and we will include it as a printed gift note with the order.

Order Vegan Baklava for Your Halloween Party

A vegan box can give your Halloween table a dessert that many guests are able to share. Choose enough boxes for your guest numbers and the other desserts you are serving, with an extra box available for guests who come back for more.

If you would like to buy vegan baklava in the UK for your party, The Baklava Box would be glad to help. You can browse our vegan baklava boxes and vegan bundles to find a size that suits your guest list, or contact us about larger orders and we can discuss what we are able to accommodate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is baklava dairy free?

Standard baklava is usually made with butter ghee, so it contains milk. Our vegan baklava selection is made without dairy or eggs, but if you are buying for someone with an allergy, please check the full ingredients and allergen information on the product page.

Is baklava gluten free?

No. Baklava is made with a wheat based pastry, and our ingredient lists include wheat flour, so it is not suitable for a gluten free diet. Please check the allergen details on the product page before ordering.

Is baklava vegetarian?

Standard baklava contains no meat, so it is generally suitable for vegetarians. Please check the ingredients on the product page if you have other dietary needs.

Does vegan baklava taste different from regular baklava?

Many people find the flavour is similar, although the buttery note may be a little different. The layered pastry and nut filling stay familiar.

What if a guest has a nut allergy?

Baklava is made with nuts, so it is not suitable for anyone with a nut allergy. For those guests, it is safest to offer a different dessert and keep the baklava clearly labelled.
